# Signing in to Lab Symplified

## How to sign in with single sign-on, email and password, a QR code badge, or a shared station

How you sign in depends on your organization. Each organization uses one method for everyone: **single sign-on (SSO)** or **email and password**. Some email-and-password organizations also offer **QR code and PIN** sign-in, and some have shared **station** accounts.

### Which sign-in method do I use?

By default, login will be based on email and password. Your company administrator will communicate the login method with you. 

- **Your welcome email had a Login link** that took you to your company's sign-in page: your organization uses **SSO**.
- **Your registration email asked you to create a password**: you sign in with **email and password**.
- Not sure? Ask your Lab Symplified administrator.

| Method | Who uses it | What you need |
| --- | --- | --- |
| Single sign-on (SSO) | Organizations that use SSO | Your company account |
| Email and password | Organizations that don't use SSO | Your email, your password, and a security code if multi-factor authentication is on |
| QR code and PIN | Email-and-password organizations that have QR code sign-in enabled (not available with SSO) | Your QR code badge, your 4-digit PIN, and a barcode scanner |
| Station login | Shared workstations, if enabled for your organization | The station's username and password from your administrator |

### Sign in with single sign-on (SSO)

1. Open the Lab Symplified Login link from your welcome email. Bookmark it for next time.
2. Sign in with your company account when prompted.
3. You're taken straight to Lab Symplified.

### Sign in with email and password

1. Go to the Lab Symplified sign-in page. By default Lab Symplified login page is "app.labsymplified.com"
2. Enter your email address and select **Next**.
3. Enter your password and select **Login**.
4. If multi-factor authentication is on, enter the security code you receive.

### Sign in with a QR code and PIN

**Available only at organizations that sign in with email and password and have QR code sign-in enabled.** It's the fastest option if you check items in and out often, and it needs a barcode scanner connected to the device.

1. Scan your QR code badge with the barcode scanner.
2. Enter your 4-digit PIN.

**Set up or change your PIN**

1. Sign in with your email and password.
2. Select **My Profile** in the top-right corner.
3. In the PIN section, select the pencil icon.
4. Enter a 4-digit PIN, enter it again to confirm, and save.

**Forgot your PIN?** Sign in with your email and password, then follow the steps above to set a new one.

### Sign in on a station (shared workstation)

Some labs have shared workstations for quick check-in and check-out. Sign in with the station username and password your administrator gives you. Station accounts can only check items in and out, view inventory, and request items.
