Notification Configuration and Assignment

Using Assignment Overview to Manage Notification Assignments

The Assignment Overview tab is used to assign notification configurations and review the overall notification setup for users.

This section is useful when you want to add multiple users at the same time, assign default notification settings, or make quick changes to notification delivery channels.

Procedure

  1. Go to Electronic Logs.
  2. From the site navigation bar, select Site Settings.
  3. Scroll down to the Notification Settings section.
  4. Select the Assignment Overview tab
  5. Select Manage Explicit Recipients.
  6. Use the search bar to find the user you want to add.
  7. You may add one user at a time or select multiple users.
  8. Click Save Recipients.

Once saved, the selected users will be added to the notification assignment overview. Their notification settings will carry over from the default Department Policies, unless a user-specific notification policy has already been configured.

Update Notification Delivery Channels

In the Assignment Overview tab, each notification event type includes delivery channel icons. You can use these icons to quickly adjust how each user should be notified for each event.

The available options are:

Icon / Option

Description

Bell Icon

Sends an In-App Notification only

Mailbox Icon

Sends an Email Notification only

Both Icon

Sends both Email and In-App Notifications

None Icon

The user will not receive notifications for that event

Icon Selection Behavior

When a delivery channel is selected, the icon will appear outlined and highlighted.

If an icon is grayed out, it means no delivery channel has been selected for that notification event.

User Policies (User-Specific Notification Configuration)

The User Policies is used to assign specific notification settings for individual users.

Use this tab when a user needs notification settings that are different from the default settings applied through Department Policies or from a selected Notification Profile.

Procedure

  • Go to Electronic Logs.
  • From the site navigation bar, select Site Settings.
  • In the Site Settings page, scroll down to the Notification Settings section.
  • Under Notification Settings, select User Policies.
  • Find the user you want to assign notification settings to. You can either select the user from the dropdown list or search by typing the user’s name.
  • Once the user is selected, the system will display a list of available notification events.
  • For each notification event, select the appropriate delivery channel from the dropdown menu.
  • The available delivery channel options are:
    • Email Notification
    • In-App Notification
    • Both Email and In-App Notification
    • Do Not Notify
  • Choose the notification method that should apply for that user.

Manage Notification Profile

Notification profiles allow you to quickly apply the notification types to the user instead of selecting each notification event and delivery channel one by one for every user. You can create a notification profile once and then assign that profile to the appropriate users.

  • Go to Electronic Logs.
  • From the site navigation bar, select Site Settings.
  • Scroll down to the Notification Settings section.
  • Select Manage Profiles.
  • Click Create New Profile.
  • Enter a profile name.
    Example: Bench Users
  • Configure the delivery channel for each notification event.
  • Once all notification events have been configured, click Save Profile.

Configuring Department Notification Policies

Department policies allow you to set default notification rules for each department. These policies are useful when individual user notification policies have not been specifically configured.

If a user does not have a custom notification policy, the system will apply the default department notification policy when that user is added in the Assignment Overview section.

Procedure

  • Go to Electronic Logs.
  • From the site navigation bar, select Site Settings.
  • Scroll down to the Notification Settings section.
  • Select the Department Policies tab.
  • Choose the department you want to configure.
  • Select the appropriate delivery channel for each notification event.
  • Save the department policy once the notification settings have been configured.
